The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oredo Local Government Area has pledged to support Governor Monday Okpebholo to succeed in Edo State.
It said it would continue to mobilise Edo people to rally support for the renewed agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
Chairman of Oredo APC, Mr. Osamudiamen Osarenkhoe, who spoke at a press briefing in Benin City, kicked against calls by some groups that Secretary of the Edo APC, Mr. Lawrence Okah, should resign.
Osamudiamen said those calling for the resignation of Okah were sponsored by the opposition political parties.
He said Okah has contributed to the upkeep of the party in Oredo LGA.
According to him, “Leadership of APC in Oredo Local Government area view the activities of those involved in the illicit campaign as one that is sponsored by the opposition political party.
“They are impostors and interlopers trying to create trouble in the local government chapter of the APC.
“Mr. Lawrence Okah is a reputable party man who has put everything humanly and constitutionally possible to ensure that APC remains the party to beat in Edo state and Nigeria as a whole.”
