Onigbogi, a legal practitioner and former member of the Governing Council of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, was the target of the threat.
Hon. Wale Adedoyin, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly and close ally of ex-Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has been caught on video issuing a death threat against an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Hon. Femi Onigbogi, during a political meeting in Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State.
Onigbogi, a legal practitioner and former member of the Governing Council of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, was the target of the threat.
In a video seen by SaharaReporters, Adedoyin is seen threatening to “kill” Onigbogi while addressing party members at a weekly APC general meeting held on Sunday.
“Tell Femi Onigbogi not to come out; he should stay inside. If he comes out, he will be killed,” he said in Yoruba.
Multiple calls were made to his known phone number and that of Onigbogi to verify the reason for the outburst, but they were returned unanswered before this report was filed.
Adedoyin, who previously served as Commissioner for Agriculture in Aregbesola’s cabinet before representing the Ilesa West State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, repeatedly faced accusations of anti-party activities during the 2022 governorship and 2023 elections.
