The Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), has congratulated the new Police Constables scheduled to pass out today (Tuesday) from various police colleges across Nigeria, describing the event as a proud moment for both the nation and the Nigeria Police Force.

DIG Argungu, speaking on Tuesday, noted that the PSC, which is constitutionally responsible for recruiting into the Nigeria Police Force, takes pride in having overseen the admission of the new recruits into the noble profession of policing.

He reminded the constables that the Commission will continue to monitor their conduct and performance as they assume their responsibilities, according to a statement signed by Ikechukwu Ani, PSC Head of Press and Public Relations.

According to the statement, the PSC Chairman urged the new officers to actively contribute to the fight against terrorism, assist in securing communities from banditry, and strengthen trust between the Police and the Nigerian public.

He emphasised that professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights must remain the foundation of their service.

DIG Argungu also assured the recruits of the Commission’s commitment to their career progression and capacity building, stressing that the nation is counting on them to protect lives and property, uphold justice, and defend Nigeria’s integrity.

“Today marks the beginning of your noble career in service to your fatherland. I urge you to serve with honour, courage, and patriotism. Your success will bring pride to your families, the Police Force, and our great nation,” the Chairman said.
