Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Deep Grassroots Mobilisation, David Onuche, has consoled Governor Usman Ododo on the death of his dad.
In a statement, he expressed grief and heartfelt condolences to the governor, describing the loss as a collective one.
Onuche described the father of the governor as “a quintessential leader, a respected community elder, and a man of sterling character whose life was dedicated to the service of God, humanity, and society.”
He noted that the news came as a shock, not only to the governor and his family, but to the people of Kogi.
Onuche said the late patriarch was known for his humility, discipline, generosity, and wisdom, which guided many in and outside his community.
“Papa’s transition is a painful one. He was more than just a father to the governor; he was a mentor, a guide, and a moral compass who instilled in his children and those around him the values of integrity, honesty, and selfless service. It is evident Governor Ododo inherited his passion for service and his devotion to humanity,” Onuche said.
The senior special assistant stressed that while the death of a loved one is always difficult to bear, the life of the late elder should be celebrated.
He admonished the governor to take solace in the knowledge that his father left behind an enduring legacy that continues to speak through his children and lives he touched.
“At moments like this, words may not heal the pains. But we must find comfort that Papa lived a fulfilled life of on godliness, community development, and peace.
His legacy will inspire generations, and his memory will remain evergreen in our hearts,” he added.
Onuche also extended his condolences to the Ododo family, friends, associates, and the entire people of the state, urging them to remain steadfast in faith and united in prayers for the repose of the soul of the departed.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the governor and his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while also granting the deceased eternal rest in His bosom.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Deep Grassroots Mobilization, I join millions of Kogites in mourning this great loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with His Excellency, Governor Ododo, and the entire family at this trying period. May the Lord comfort you all and strengthen you to carry on Papa’s shining legacy,” Onuche added.
