Stand-up comedian AY Makun has denied rumours of regretting his marital breakdown and seeking reconciliation with estranged wife, Mabel.
In an Instagram post, he described these claims as false and manipulative, warning that he would take legal action against anyone spreading such narratives.
AY emphasised that if he wants to communicate his personal stance on any matter, he’ll do so directly, not through faceless blogs or rumor-driven platforms.
He wrote: “My attention has been drawn to a series of false, incessant, and insensitive social media posts suggesting that I am in a state of regret and seeking reconciliation in my past relationship.
“These publications are deliberately manipulative, calculated to mislead the public, and designed solely for traffic and engagement.
“For clarity, I have never authorized or made any such statements.
“If I wish to communicate my personal position on any matter, I have the platform, the reach, and the credibility to do so directly, not through faceless blogs and rumor-driven platforms.
“This serves as a final warning: all such false narratives should be disregarded by the public.
“Moving forward, the appropriate legal measures will be instituted against individuals, blogs, or platforms that continue to publish, promote, or circulate these defamatory stories. Enough of the lies.”
AY and Mabel, who have two daughters together, announced their separation in April 2024 after 16 years of marriage.
Mabel had previously hinted at long-term mental abuse, stating she left the marriage for her safety and peace of mind.
AY acknowledged the relationship was “slipping through his hands” but chose not to share details.
Both parties have since confirmed their separation and asked for privacy while focusing on their children.
