President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new Director-General and members of the management team of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Nigeria’s foremost state-owned broadcaster.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Rotimi Pedro from the South-West has been named the new Director-General of the Authority.
Other appointments include Karimah Bello from the North-West as Executive Director, Marketing; Stella Din Jacob from the North-Central as Executive Director, News; and Sophia Essahmed from the North-East as Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Limited.
The President charged the new appointees to bring teamwork and innovation to bear in their assignments, stressing the need to reposition and revitalize the NTA for effective service delivery in an evolving media landscape.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Director-General and other members of the Management Team for the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
“President Tinubu tasks the new appointees to work as a team in repositioning and revitalizing the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) by infusing innovations into the Agency for effective service delivery”, the statement said.
