Lord’s Achievers Awards is set to return for its seventh edition with introduction of a formal jury process and addition of new categories to broadenrecognition in emerging sectors.
In a statement, Marketing Manager of Nigeria Distilleries, Oluwagbemileke Lawal, said the brand’s continued investment in the awards underscores its commitment to empowering young people and driving societal progress.
He noted that by recognising young leaders and innovators, the awards celebrate them and create a platform that inspires, encourages, and empowers others to pursue change.
“Our investment in the awards reflects our belief in youths. By recognising young leaders and innovators, we celebrate achievement and create a platform that inspires, encourages, and empowers others to change,” he said.
Lawal said the organisers have strengthened credibility of the awards by constituting a jury of professionals from media, technology, entertainment, and innovation.
The jury include Senior Editor of Africa at CNN, Stephanie Busari; Director of Creativity and Innovations at Globacom, Chuka Obi; Director of Operations at Africa EMPIRE, Titilope Adesanya; and Chief Executive of Southwest Innovation, Wole Odetayo.
Lawal said there are new categories: Media and Journalism, Sports, Content Creation, and Film and Entertainment.
He said this ensures broader recognition of achievers, reflecting the evolving landscape of excellence and innovation.
He said during deliberations, jury members assessed nominees using criteria as innovation, impact, leadership, sustainability, and alignment with brand values.
Lawal further noted that the panel prioritised fairness and inclusivity, ensuring youth representation was balanced with sector realities.
