Lagos State Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development has announced plans to hold the maiden Lagos Waterfront Summit: “Pressure on the Lagoon: Lagos Experience.”

The event holds September 11,  at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In a statement, Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Dayo Alebiosu, said the summit would tackle threats to the state’s lagoon ecosystem.

He said: “Let’s get this conversation started about our lagoon, which is under siege from shady dredging operations, abandoned wrecks, and indiscriminate land reclamation. The signs are worsening floods, disappearing fish, and communities struggling to stay afloat.”
