President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Rotimi Pedro from Lagos State as the new Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The President also confirmed the appointment of three other Executive Directors (EDs) to different departments in the organisation.
The names of the appointees were displayed on the X handle of @the Presidency yesterday, ending several days of speculation on the changes at the national television station.
In a post on its X handle, titled: “President Tinubu strengthens national broadcasting, appoints new NTA DG and EDs,” The Presidency announced that Karimah Bello from Katsina State was appointed as the new Executive Director, Marketing.
Others are: Stella Din, from Plateau State, as the Executive Director, News.
Sophia Mohammed from Adamawa State, representing the Northeast, was named as the Managing Director of NTA Enterprises Limited.
The statement said the appointments, which take immediate effect, reaffirm the President’s commitment to strengthening national broadcasting as a platform for unity, cohesion, and soft diplomacy.
