Veteran musician, Zaaki Azzay, has announced his resignation as the second vice president of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), saying he has completely withdrawn from all activities connected to the association.

In a statement on Saturday, Zaaki said recent developments within PMAN compelled him to step aside in order to protect his integrity and reputation.

The statement read, “I, Zaaki Azzay, hereby announce my resignation from my position as the 2nd Vice President of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN). I take my integrity and reputation very seriously, and recent developments within the Association have compelled me to formally distance myself from its affairs,” he declared.

He also referred to ongoing disputes involving PMAN, its former president Pretty Okafor, and Olusco Heritage Investment Ltd over land in Abuja, saying such matters were part of the reasons he had earlier chosen to step down.

The singer clarified that he has no involvement in any dealings linked to the Association.
